Icono invested in the complete redevelopment of a 1950s-style bungalow, transforming it into two inspiring modern city spaces.
The development aimed to capitalise on the outstanding views, natural light and underutilised space of this sought-after address. The redesigned homes now enjoy sweeping views over Cape Town’s Atlantic seaboard and harbour.
While the finish is contemporary, it retains some of its original charm with exposed brickwork and classic Oregon pine flooring. Timbers from the original roof structure were reclaimed and restored to create the floor and bathroom joinery. Inspired by Scandinavian design, the timber was expertly machined by a local master cabinetmaker and finished onsite by Icono’s flooring team. Additional parking was added to allow convenient townhouse living on the doorstep of Cape Town’s CBD.
